A. BACKGROUND

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct training for local CSOs.
- Schedule and organize trainings, including arrangement of logistics (suitable to women and men employees of the CSOs) and preparation of training plans and materials.
- Provide technical assistance to CSOs as practical and according to areas of expertise.
- Participate in collecting data and preparing reports on training activities.
- Participate in training module design and development as requested.
- As requested, contribute to overall I-PACS project planning and development.
- Assist in addressing issues raised by the CSOs and suggest program changes or enhancements as appropriate.
- Coordinate training efforts with program initiatives in OD, grant-making, gender and media.
- Identify training resources and as requested, assist Counterpart to develop a database of training and OD resources.
- Participate in promoting the exchange of training information and expertise across the country.
- As requested, assist in planning for, facilitate and/or participate fully in meetings and ad hoc working groups.
- Keep informed of Civil Society issues and developments in Afghanistan.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
C. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- University degree in training or management-related field preferred.
- Minimum of three years of work experience with NGOs.
- Experience as a trainer strongly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Good English writing, speaking and comprehension skills.
- Fluency in the two main Afghan languages, Pashto & Dari (writing, speaking and comprehension).
- Good computer skills to include Internet, Word, Excel, data-base.
- Must be of a good and respectful character, and be able to conduct business with the whole national and international community regardless of ethnicity, gender, religion, race, tribe or culture with respect, and professionalism.
- Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Professionalism in appearance and demeanor.
